Prithvi Animal Welfare Society (PAWS)

We are a Chennai-based non-profit committed to improving the lives of street dogs and stray cats through humane Animal Birth Control, medical care, sheltering and rehabilitation.

What began in 2014 as a small group of animal lovers is today an officially registered NGO. Our shelter campus in Kovalam has a dedicated, hand-picked team working towards long-term, humane change.

Through partnerships with local communities, businesses and volunteers, we've created a network of support that extends far beyond our shelter walls. For a kinder, more compassionate Chennai for all its inhabitants.

We work to minimise the number of animals born into adversity through ethical Animal Birth Control (ABC) programs, providing medical support, sheltering injured and abandoned animals and building safer, calmer communities.
